Can I use props in a brand photo shoot?

And in short, the answer is yes, please!

Props can bring a whole new level to your brand photo shoot to really show off parts of your personality and your business that people might not normally see.

Sometimes when I mention using props it puts people off and they worry about what to include in their sessions. So below, I’ve listed a few of the bestthings you could use.

Your business tools

Do you work behind a laptop, create sketches, use diaries, or cookbooks? All of these things can be used and sourced very easily from your own business. If you sell products, you could also show these off to.

Bargain shops

I always encourage my clients not to spend too much money when it comes to their photo shoots, but sometimes, especially when you’re having a shoot at home, you might want to liven the space up. Shops like Home Bargains, B&M and Poundland can be great for finding cheap home accessories & stationary that might soften or brighten up your photo shoot.

Your favourite things

I always ask my clients if they’ve got a favourite mug. If you’re anything like me you’ve probably got about 5000, but always tend to go back to the same one or two because they just feel good!

However, it doesn’t have to be a mug. It can be a favourite pen, or a piece of equipment that you use around your home daily. Dare I say a pet?? If you’ve got any nice house plants they also make a great backdrop too, we blooming love those, no pun intended!
